Just discovered this podcast today! I’m disappointed you didn’t spend a lot more time talking about hoop specs! Maybe it’s cause of the issue you touched on in the first episode regarding availability of materials (I’m in Canada btw), but I see SO much more info when purchasing hoops online than just the diameter. Eg. the thickness of tubing (I’ll see things like 3/4 or 5/8), material (PE, HDPE, PPE), and sometimes PSI is brought into the equation, which I honestly still don’t understand at all. I’m lucky enough to know people who make hoops themselves so I can touch and feel for myself how they work/react before they make me one. I only bought 1 hoop online and was really disappointed with it and never end up using it!

Hi Stacie, thanks for commenting! We actually tried to cover all the specifications that you’ve mentioned here in this episode but it ended up getting waaayyy too convoluted and messy, we’ve decided to try to tackle it again in a future episode. Definitely helps to have hoops you can try before you buy. I’m sorry to hear that the one you got online didn’t end up working out for you. Maybe your flow will grow to like it one day down the track or you can help it find a new home selling it in one of the Facebook hoop community groups.
